‘Rs 10.5 crore cash missing from PMC records’

MUMBAI: PMC Bank‘s internal investigation team has made a startling revelation: A total of Rs 10.5 crore cash is missing from the bank’s records. The team has found multiple cheques issued by HDIL and its related entities which were never deposited with the bank and yet cash was handed over to them. While the cheques amount to over Rs 10 crore, there is no accounting for another Rs 50-55 lakh. That apart, Rs 4,355 crore, the loan fraud amount that the bank’s officials had quoted earlier, has now crossed Rs 6,500 crore. MUMBAI: Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer Huawei‘s India chief executive Jay Chen on Thursday said 5G is more safer than previous networks and only quantum computing can help break into the architecture. Domestic air passenger traffic rise by 1.18% in Sep

NEW DELHI: Indicating further slowdown in the aviation sector, the domestic air passenger traffic this September increased by just 1.18 per cent compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the DGCA on Thursday. In August this year, the domestic passenger growth was 3.87 per cent compared to the same month last year. The domestic air traffic last month consisted of 11.79 million passengers compared to 11.35 million passengers in the same month last year, a jump of 1.18 per cent, as per data. Regarding September data, a senior official of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said, “The numbers are disappointing. They have pulled down our projection (for 2018-19)…to 4-6 per cent. Runway incursion: 2 SpiceJet pilots suspended

NEW DELHI: The licences of two SpiceJet pilots was on Thursday suspended for three months each for entering the runway without clearance while operating a flight at Delhi airport this August. While air traffic control (ATC) had asked them to stop at holding point of a runway, they crossed the same leading to the incursion. The incident had occurred on August 27, 2019, when the captain and co-pilot were operating a Boeing 737 (VT-SYF) as SG-8723 from Delhi to Mumbai. NEW DELHI: Rising for the fifth straight session, equity indices on Thursday ended in green with the benchmark BSE sensex soaring over 400 points, led by gains in banking and auto stocks, amid sustained foreign fund inflows. The 30-share BSE index rose 453.07 points or 1.17 per cent to close at 39,052.06. While, the broader NSE Nifty ended 122.35 points or 1.07 per cent up at 11,586.35.
