Concluding months of rumours and leaks, Apple has finally unveiled its 2019 iPhone series. The line-up includes three smartphones – iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. The company also introduced a brand new iPad (7th-gen) alongside Apple Watch Series 5.
Starting with the new iPhones, the Apple iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max comes in three colours – Midnight Green, Space Grey, Silver and Gold. While the iPhone 11 features a 5.8-inch Retina OLED display with P3 color gamut, HDR support, Haptic Touch and brightness level of up to 1200nits, the iPhone 11 Pro Max has the same features but on a 6.5-inch canvas.
Both are powered by Apple A13 Bionic processor and have triple rear camera comprising of a 12MP f/1.8 wide-angle camera with 12MP telephoto lens and a 12MP f/2.4 ultra wide lens. There’s a 12MP front-facing camera as well. In addition to a new Night Mode and video editing features, the new iPhones can also shoot 4K videos at 60fps.
As for the battery, the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are claimed to deliver up to 4 hours more than XS and 5 hours more than XS Max respectively.
The iPhone 11 Pro begins from Rs 99,900 while the iPhone 11 Pro Max begins from Rs 1,09,900. The iPhone XR and iPhone 8 series beginning from $599 and $499 respectively. The iPhone 11 Pro models will go on sale starting September 20 in select countries.
Apple iPhone 11, on the other hand, has a 6.1-inch Retina display along with features like Spatial Audio, Dolby Atmos and more. It is powered by A13 Bionic processor and has dual-rear cameras as well. The camera setup includes a 12MP f/1.8 wide camera and a 12MP 120-degree ultra-wide camera. It also has the new Night Mode and video feature including live zooming and wide camera switch feature. There’s a 12MP front-facing camera as well with slow-motion video support.
The iPhone 11 is claimed to feature an hour more battery life than the iPhone XR. The new iPhone comes in Green, Purple, Yellow, Black, Product RED and White colour variant and has a starting price of Rs 64,900.
Apple also launched its Watch Series 5 at the event. The new watchOS 6-based smartwatch now has an Always On Retina display that dims the screen when hand is moved away from the face and brightens it up when raised. The device has a new ambient light sensor and a display driver for better viewing. In addition to a built-in compass and International emergency calling feature, the Watch Series 5 is claimed to have upto 18 hour battery life.
The watch comes in two finishes in Titanium model along with a White-coloured Ceramic model. The GPS only variant starts at Rs 40,900 while the Cellular variant begins at Rs 49,900. The Watch Series 3 will now begin from Rs Rs 20,900 for the GPS version and and is Rs 29,900 for the GPS+cellular model.
Apple’s brand new iPad (7th-gen) will be replacing the 6th-gen. It features a 10.2-inch Retina display and is powered by A10 Fusion chip undr-the-hood. Running iPadOS, the new iPad supports TouchID and has an 8MP rear camera. With upto 10 hours of battery life, Apple claims that its iPad (7th-gen) has a starting price of Rs 29,900 and will be made available starting September 20 in select countries.
